Ola Electric to launch two micro hatchbacks, a rickshaw, and an LCV

Ola Electric city hatchback

As seen in the teaser image, the upcoming array of EVs includes two micro hatchbacks designed for city use, a rickshaw to beat the rivals like the Bajaj GoGo series, and a small LCV pickup truck to compete with the Tata Ace EV.

While the brand did not release a lot of details regarding these products, all of these are based on the new-age Gen 4 platform. Interestingly, this platform also supports the upcoming two-wheelers that Ola plans to launch in the coming years.

The visible silhouettes of the electric cars showcase MG Comet rivals in the making. These appear to be designed strictly for city use, as they feature a boxy shape that is likely to house roomy interiors for everyday practicality.

Meanwhile, the electric rickshaw will take on the expanding e-rickshaw market in India. The current competitors with a strong brand name in the e-rickshaw segment include Piaggio, TVS, and Bajaj. Ola seems to be targeting these contenders with its new Gen 4 platform-based e-rickshaw.

Similarly, the lightweight pickup truck will supposedly compete with the Tata Ace EV. However, this segment is yet to witness a boom as the Ace EV is also selling in modest numbers.

Other details, like the battery specs or launch timeline for these upcoming EVs, have not been revealed. We feel that Ola wanted the world to know through these teaser images that it is developing and expanding exponentially.

Our say

Ola has been facing a lot of troubles lately due to its poor management and after-sales experience for customers. The brand seriously needs to revamp its working style and address the issues being faced by customers.
