As Kia continues testing the next-gen Seltos, more spy shots are surfacing online, showing the interesting details. The latest images of a test mule showcase what possibly could be a sports variant of the upcoming Seltos.

Upcoming Kia Seltos to become bigger, better, more comfortable
As seen in the new spy images, the heavily camouflaged test mule of the upcoming Seltos is seen with new 17-inch black colour alloy wheels, which are different from the earlier spotted test car, which presumably was the top-spec variant.
Additionally, it gets black ORVMs, which further hint at a sporty version. The car spotted here is most probably a GT-Line or Black Edition variant, something similar to the Hyundai Creta Dark Knight.
A sporty variant with an all-black outlook makes sense as the Indian SUV market is now full of black edition models. Even the sales of black SUVs are at the top, and in some cases, like the Mahindra Scorpio N and Hyundai Creta, black editions are outselling the regular variants.
New design and features incoming
Speaking of the next-gen Seltos, it will be based on a new platform that will be 100 mm longer, thus providing more interior space, new features, and more cargo area. Additionally, it will undergo a massive design update that will offer new vertical LED lights, new alloys, new front and rear design, flush door handles and more.
The interiors will also undergo a complete revamp with new seats, new door panels, a new dashboard with a triple-connected screen layout, a new steering wheel, and revised touch controls. The steering wheel is expected to get haptic touch controls, while the new voice commands will be offered to operate most of the cabin’s features.
Hybrid engine with more mileage
Kia is reported to be working on a new 1.5-litre turbo-hybrid engine that will debut with the new-gen Seltos. It will take on the competitors like the Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder in India. Meanwhile, the current engine options are likely to be carried forward as it is.
India launch date and price
The new-gen Seltos is expected to mark its global debut later this year. Therefore, we can safely assume that it will land in India by early 2026. The estimated price of the new-gen model will be higher than the current model due to its bigger size and more features.
Our say
The Seltos SUV has been a pivot for Kia in the Indian market. However, it is long overdue for a massive update because its rivals are already one step ahead in terms of design and features. The new-gen Seltos will shake the mid-size SUV market in India once launched.
