Ather is all set to introduce its new electric scooter that will be added to the affordable range of the brand on August 30. It will be based on a new EL platform. Check out its complete details below.

What to expect from the new Ather EL e-scooter?
Recently teased on the social media handle of the brand, the upcoming new unnamed electric scooter is likely to become the most affordable offering of the brand. It will be based on a new platform called ‘EL’.
As per the brand’s CEO and Co-founder, Tarun Mehta, the new electric scooter will focus on versatility and cost efficiency. Moreover, this new EL platform will house the future e-scooters and other EVs of the brand that will focus on affordability.
The new electric scooter is scheduled to debut on August 30. However, the teaser shows a faint image that gives us a rough idea of how the new EV will look. It is suspected to carry design traits from the Rizta e-scooter. The teaser image has a wide seat and a familiar front panel as the Rizta e-scooter.
However, the details available as of now are slim to none, but we can safely assume that it will use the same battery pack options as the Rizta EV. Therefore, the maximum range on offer could be easily more than 130 km on a full charge.
Ather has also added the Battery as a Service (BaaS) program recently for its new customers. This program allows new customers to only pay for the scooter and opt for the battery pack as a rental. The same program could very well be offered for the new upcoming EL platform scooter.
Our say
Ather’s expansion with the EL platform is likely to make it more affordable and friendly in the tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Additionally, the BaaS program will help new customers join Ather’s list of buyers by paying a lower amount.
