TVS is soon going to reveal a new brand/initiative, called ‘Indus’. The company has officially teased it on its social media handles, hinting at the possibility of a new affordable e-scooter. Read the complete details below.

TVS Indus – Is it the Jupiter Electric?
TVS is rumoured to be working on a new affordable electric scooter. In fact, the brand’s official also confirmed the same in an investor call earlier. Now, the brand has released a teaser showing the ‘Indus’ moniker.
While it is unclear whether it is a new marketing initiative, a product service, or a new electric scooter, we are assuming it to be something related to the electric wing of the brand due to the blue highlight used in the teaser.
However, there have been rumours for weeks now that TVS is working on a new affordable electric scooter, which is expected to be positioned below the iQube. It will be a sub-Rs 1 lakh EV that will compete in the EV mass market.
Meanwhile, the rumours also hint at the electric Jupiter. It is possible because Jupiter has been designed specifically to house a battery and electric motor. The fuel tank of the current Jupiter is underneath the footboard, which shall be replaced by the battery pack in the EV avatar.
The brand is likely to reveal what Indus is all about by the upcoming festive season. If it’s a new electric scooter, then TVS will reveal more details regarding it before the official launch timeline.
Our verdict
TVS is actively working towards its portfolio expansion, especially by focusing on the premium motorcycles. The brand is likely to introduce the Apache RTR 310-based ADV bike before Diwali this year. Moreover, a 450cc Apache and new Norton bikes are also under development.
