Rivals and market positioning
The Model Y enters a competitive segment, taking on:
- Kia EV6
- Hyundai Ioniq 5
- Volvo C40 Recharge
- BMW iX1
- Mercedes-Benz EQB and EQA
Despite being a CBU, Tesla’s pricing is surprisingly aggressive, especially considering the tech and range on offer. However, it is more expensive in India as compared to other markets such as China and Europe.
