Tata Harrier EV deliveries start, worth the price?
Tata recently launched the electric Harrier SUV in India at a starting price of Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Tata Motors has now started delivering the Harrier.ev to customers who pre-booked the car in the first batch.
With that said, it is available in two battery versions: 65 kWh and 75 kWh. Moreover, customers get a choice of a standard RWD drivetrain and an optional, top-spec QWD (Quad Wheel Drive) drivetrain, which is essentially an all-wheel drive version.
Both battery pack options are available with the RWD configuration, which is equipped with a single electric motor producing 235 bhp and 315 Nm of power and torque. The MIDC-claimed range for the 65 kWh RWD version is up to 538 km (real-world).
Meanwhile, the AWD version is packed with dual electric motors that produce 390 bhp of power and 504 Nm of torque. The AWD/QWD version is a quick performer as it can sprint 0-100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds.
Tata is a flagship carmaker in terms of safe vehicles, and the Harrier.ev is no exception either. The electric Harrier has recently scored a 5-star BNCAP crash test rating, which makes it one of the safest electric SUVs in India.
The base 65 kWh RWD variant is priced at Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-end QWD 75 kWh variant is priced at Rs 28.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers can also opt for the Stealth variants, which are available from Rs 28.24 to Rs 29.74 lakh (ex-showroom).
Our say
The new Harrier EV promises to offer a supple ride quality, along with long-range drivability and a safe cabin experience. Its only rival is the Mahindra XEV 9e, which is currently one of the top-selling electric SUVs in India.
