Suzuki India’s investment plans are massive

Maruti Suzuki has recently inaugurated its Hansalpur, Gujarat facility. At the inaugural, Toshihiro Suzuki, the President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, announced that the company is targeting to invest a massive Rs 70,000 crore in India in the next 5-6 years.

This investment comes after Suzuki’s long-term trust in the Indian market and its multiple production facilities based in India that are working seamlessly to export cars globally. Toshihiro also commented that the Indian policies and the investment have progressed to a point where it is competing with the first-world manufacturing countries.

With that said, the company inaugurated its first-ever global EV production plant in Gujarat. Here, the brand will be manufacturing the e-Vitara, which is the first global EV of the company to be supplied in markets like Japan and Europe.

As far as the India expansion plans are concerned, Maruti is set to commence production at its new Kharkhoda, Haryana-based production facility in the coming months. It will be the largest production facility of Suzuki in India after the Manesar, Haryana plant.

The brand is overdue to launch the e-Vitara in India, which is now expected to be introduced by the festive season this year.

Our say

The large investment plans of Suzuki in India will certainly prove beneficial, as they will generate more employment and new businesses around the production of new cars.
