Suzuki Gixxer 250, SF 250 recalled: Here’s why
The latest recall of the Gixxer 250 and the SF 250 models has been issued by the company due to a rear brake-related issue. A total of 5,145 units of both motorcycles have been identified with this issue.
As per the company, the affected motorcycles were manufactured between February 2022 to June 2026. The affected motorcycles are reported to have accidentally been fitted with the brake caliper assembly of the V-Strom 250 adventure bike.
This results in improper contact between the brake pad and the brake caliper, which affects the braking power of both motorcycles. The company has issued a warning that the continuous use of these brakes will result in improper wear and tear, eventually leading to a complete failure.
As a solution, the company is currently identifying the current customers, and contacting them to bring their respective motorcycles for a free of cost change of the rear brake assembly for proper rectification.
Mind you, the Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250 are two quarter-litre sportsbikes of Suzuki that have been holding the beacon for long in India. Both of these bikes are powered by the 249cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that develops 26.13 bhp of peak power and 22.2 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox.
