Key Highlights
- New T-Roc grows in size with sharper styling and a tech-rich cabin
- Offered exclusively with hybrid powertrains, including VW’s first full-hybrid setup
- Global launch set for November 2025; India plans still under wraps
Volkswagen has officially unveiled the second-generation T-Roc. The new model is bigger, smarter, and now exclusively hybrid-powered. Positioned between the T-Cross and Tiguan, the T-Roc has already sold over two million units globally since its debut in 2017. The second-gen version aims to build on that success with a bold new design and a tech-heavy interior.
Design
The new T-Roc stretches to 4,373 mm, making it 122 mm longer than its predecessor. The wheelbase grows by 28 mm, improving rear legroom, while boot space increases to 465 litres.
Up front, the SUV gets LED headlamps linked by a light strip and an illuminated VW badge. The rear features a full-width 3D LED light bar and a glowing emblem. The profile remains familiar but gains a sportier stance with 20-inch alloy wheels, sculpted fenders, and a coupe-like roofline.
Interior
Inside, Volkswagen has ditched hard plastics for fabric-wrapped surfaces, ambient lighting, and perforated leatherette upholstery. The dashboard now houses a 13-inch infotainment screen, paired with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and an optional head-up display.
Other highlights include:
- Travel Assist with adaptive cruise and lane centering
- Multifunction rotary dial for drive modes and audio settings
- 14-way power seats with massage function
- Harman Kardon audio system
- Recycled materials used across cabin plastics
Powertrain
The new T-Roc is built on the MQB Evo platform, which supports multiple hybrid configurations. At launch, buyers get two 1.5-litre eTSI mild-hybrid options producing 116 hp and 150 hp, both paired with a 7-speed DSG and 48V system.
Coming soon:
- 2.0-litre eTSI AWD variant
- Full-hybrid (HEV) setup with 134 hp or 168 hp and up to 306 Nm torque
- Performance-focused T-Roc R with sport-tuned chassis and higher output
Volkswagen says this could be the last ICE-powered T-Roc, depending on market demand.
Colours and Launch Timeline
The T-Roc will be offered in six colours:
- Pure White
- Wolf Grey Metallic
- Grenadilla Black Metallic
- Canary Yellow
- Flamed Red Metallic
- Celestial Blue Metallic
Pre-bookings in Germany began on August 27, with deliveries starting November 2025. Prices start at €30,845 (approx. INR 31.4 lakh) for the base 1.5 eTSI.
No word yet on an India launch, but given the growing appetite for premium hybrids, it wouldn’t be a surprise.
