Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric coming soon?
As seen in the new and crisp, clear shots, a number of Himalayan Electric test bikes are seen together parked and being tested in the high-altitude region of Ladakh. The photos show that the Him-E, which will likely be named as, is going to look like an evolved version of the current Himalayan.
While the overall design language and outlook of the Him-E are identical to the Himalayan 450, it is the battery placement and the use of high-quality parts that differentiate it and make it more interesting. The black colour test mules are equipped with beautiful golden rims and chunky golden USD forks, which are most probably fully adjustable.
Meanwhile, the test bikes are loaded with knobby tyres to conquer the harsh off-road landscape of Ladakh. On the side, it gets a large semi-fairing to cover the battery and the chain-driven electric motor and the drivetrain. Moreover, the test bike is loaded with the new projector LED headlight, a taller windscreen, a rally tower display, and a small tank with Royal Enfield badging.
Additionally, the test mules have Brembo brakes, adjustable levers, adjustable suspension, a rally seat, luggage mounting points at the rear, and more. Speaking of the battery specifications, it is rumoured online that the Him-E will be the most powerful bike of the brand, and it will be offered with a 14 kWh battery pack that will offer 100 bhp of power and an expected range of around 250 km.
While the exact details regarding the launch timeline are unknown as of now, we are assuming that the Himalayan Electric will mark its global debut at the EICMA 2025 in November. It might get introduced in India at the IBW 2025 later this year. However, the official launch of the production-spec is expected next year.
Our say
The upcoming Himalayan Electric will become the most powerful and the most advanced motorcycle of Royal Enfield globally and in India as well. Alongside the Him-E, Royal Enfield will also launch the Flying Flea range of e-bikes that will cater city-oriented users.
