Porsche has launched a new Design Package for the Macan SUV in India, priced at INR 96.05 lakh (ex-showroom). This limited-run variant adds a host of visual enhancements inside and out, making the Macan look sharper and feel more exclusive. The first 30 customers will get the package at no additional cost, while others will need to shell out INR 7.5 lakh over the standard price.
The Design Package includes:
- LED puddle lamps and tinted LED tail-lights
- Sportier exhaust system and coloured hub caps
- Black ORVMs and body-coloured side skirts
- Front and rear aprons from the Sports Design Package
Inside, the cabin gets a Carbon Interior Package with carbon-fibre inserts on the dashboard and door panels, along with a black gear knob for added sportiness.
Performance: No Changes Under the Hood
Mechanically, the Macan remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, producing 265hp and 400Nm of torque. The SUV can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds, which drops to 6.2 seconds with the optional Sport Chrono Package.
The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and an all-wheel-drive system, ensuring confident performance across varied driving conditions.
Competition Check
At INR 96.05 lakh, the Macan with Design Package sits above rivals like:
- Audi Q5 (INR 68–73.79 lakh)
- BMW X3 (INR 75.8–77.80 lakh)
- Mercedes-Benz GLC (INR 78.3 lakh)
- Volvo XC60 (INR 71.90 lakh)
While pricier, the Macan offers a more engaging drive and now, with the Design Package, a more distinctive look.
