Norton Motorcycles clears the deck for the next generation

Key highlights

  • Norton halts production of V4SV, V4CR, and Commando 961 models at its Solihull facility.
  • A new 1200cc superbike and midsize models are set to debut in November, with India on the launch map.
  • Final units of the outgoing models are being offered as collectible editions through select dealers.

Norton Motorcycles has officially ended production of its current lineup, including the V4SV superbike, V4CR cafe racer, and the retro-styled Commando 9612. The last units have rolled out of the Solihull factory, marking the end of a chapter that helped revive the brand under TVS ownership.

This isn’t a quiet exit. Dealers are offering the final batch as collectible editions, and there’s already a waiting list for the last Commando 961s. If you’ve been eyeing one, now’s the time to act before they become museum pieces.

What’s next: new bikes, new vibe

Norton isn’t just clearing shelf space—it’s gearing up for a full-blown relaunch. The brand will unveil a new 1200cc superbike in November, likely at EICMA in Milan. Spy shots and teaser leaks suggest a sharper design language and upgraded performance. Expect carbon bodywork, aggressive ergonomics, and a serious nod to track capability.

TVS, which acquired Norton in 2020, has confirmed that the new superbike will launch in India as part of a global rollout. Following that, midsize models built in India will join the lineup, expanding Norton’s reach into more accessible segments.

A shift in strategy

This move signals a clear shift from boutique nostalgia to modern performance. Norton’s Executive Director Richard Arnold summed it up best: “As one chapter ends, another begins. Our resurgence reflects a bold vision for these legendary British motorcycles”.

The brand is also investing in flexible financing and service support to attract new riders. It’s not just about selling bikes—it’s about building a community that blends heritage with innovation.
