New-gen Volkswagen T-Roc to get a strong hybrid engine
Volkswagen is all set to introduce the new, second-generation T-Roc mid-size SUV next month. It will be revealed at the Munich Motor Show 2025 with a new strong hybrid powertrain.
As per the online reports, the new-gen T-Roc is likely to feature a series-parallel hybrid engine, which will power the wheels with the battery, engine, and the combination of both. It is the first time that Volkswagen has opted to power a vehicle with this type of series-parallel hybrid motor setup.
While the exact details about this powertrain are unknown as of now, we are sure that this new powertrain will offer high fuel economy numbers that will attract a lot of buyers. Volkswagen is adamant that the hybrid engine will benefit sales in certain markets like Latin America, India, etc, where customers are biased towards the HEV powertrains.
It is also being reported online that the new-gen T-Roc’s hybrid engine will be used on the next update of the Golf and Tiguan models in the international markets.
Our say
The T-Roc mid-size SUV might not have worked its charm in India, but it is a highly popular SUV in certain international markets. The new-gen T-Roc hybrid model might prove just perfect for the Indian market in the future.
