India Kawasaki Motors has introduced the MY26 Ninja ZX-6R, bringing an updated supersport to enthusiasts at a starting price of INR 11.69 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries will begin in the first week of September 2025. Positioned between the smaller Ninja ZX-4R and the flagship Ninja ZX-10R, the ZX-6R serves as the brand’s mid-range supersport with a fine balance of power, agility, and everyday usability.

Design and Features

The MY26 Ninja ZX-6R carries styling inspired by the bigger ZX-10R while retaining a unique supersport character. It gets a layered front cowl, compact LED headlights, and a sharp windshield that complements its aggressive stance. The cockpit is modern with a 4.3-inch TFT display, smartphone connectivity via Kawasaki’s Rideology app, and integrated riding modes.

Braking performance comes from dual 310 mm discs with radial-mounted calipers, while Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres enhance grip. Suspension duties are handled by a Showa SFF-BP front fork and a fully adjustable rear monoshock, making the bike versatile for both track use and city riding.

Engine and Performance

At its core lies a 636cc liquid-cooled, in-line four-cylinder engine. Tuned for strong mid-range and low-rpm performance, the motor pairs with a 6-speed cassette-style gearbox and an assist and slipper clutch. The inclusion of a quick-shifter allows clutchless upshifts, adding to its track focus.

Riders can toggle between different power modes (Sport, Road, Rain) and adjust traction control with three KTRC settings, offering flexibility across varied conditions. Kawasaki’s intelligent ABS (KIBS) further enhances braking precision.

Rivals in the Market

In India, the Ninja ZX-6R sits in a unique space with limited direct rivals. The Honda CBR650R is the closest alternative, offering everyday usability but with less track aggression. On the premium end, the Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 is the more focused supersport rival, though with a higher price tag.
