Mercedes-Benz CLA Microsoft Teams feature explained
Turning the car into a moving workstation, Mercedes-Benz has partnered with Microsoft to offer the Microsoft Teams feature on its new-gen CLA model.
As per the latest information, the German luxury carmaker will soon offer an integrated Teams meeting feature on the CLA, which will allow the driver to attend work meetings on the go by using the in-car camera.
To achieve it, the Microsoft Intune software will be integrated into the MB.OS operating software for the infotainment. The MB.OS will get a complete 365 Copilot AI and Microsoft Teams with Enhanced Meetings feature integration.
In a simpler manner, the new Teams feature will allow the driver to attend the meeting via the in-car camera, but it will not display the screens of the other participants for safety reasons. Moreover, the system will close automatically as soon as the meeting is over.
Meanwhile, the user will also be able to see the upcoming meetings and the calendar schedule while driving the car. Additionally, the expanded voice chat system will handle the work-related DMs, thus reducing the dependency on checking the mobile phone while driving.
However, this smart meeting integration feature will be offered as an Entertainment Package Plus, which will require an additional cost to upgrade from the standard car price.
As of now, CLA will become the first Mercedes car to offer the new Microsoft Teams feature, but more models will soon be added to this list.
Our verdict
The introduction of Microsoft Teams in a moving car is going to be an interesting upgrade. As most new Mercedes buyers are corporate employees/business owners, the ability to attend meetings on the go will become instantly popular if calibrated right.
