Key highlights
- Maruti Suzuki Victoris has been unveiled, positioned between Brezza and Grand Vitara.
- Offered with petrol, CNG, and hybrid powertrains; Level 2 ADAS available on top trims.
- Sold via Arena dealerships, making it the most premium SUV in Maruti’s mass-market network.
Maruti Suzuki has officially unveiled the Victoris SUV in India after multiple spy shots and leaks. This is Arena’s new flagship, aimed squarely at the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and the rising tide of midsize SUVs. The Victoris fills the gap between the Brezza and Grand Vitara, and it’s got enough firepower to make buyers rethink their shortlists.
Powertrain options
Victoris comes with three engine choices:
- 1.5L petrol with 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic
- 1.5L petrol+CNG with 5-speed manual
- 1.5L strong hybrid with eCVT gearbox
The hybrid variant promises better fuel efficiency and smoother city driving, while the CNG option keeps running costs low. Maruti’s AllGrip AWD is also offered with select variants.
Tech package
Maruti has packed Victoris with features that Arena buyers haven’t seen before:
- Fully digital instrument cluster
- Dual-zone climate control
- Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- 360-degree camera
- Ventilated seats
- Level 2 ADAS with adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and emergency braking
- Theatre on wheels with Dolby and Harman sound system
This is the first time Maruti has offered ADAS in its Arena lineup, and it’s a big deal.
Design and dimensions
Victoris shares its platform with the Grand Vitara but gets a distinct identity. The front sports an upright hood, bold grille, LED DRLs, and projector headlamps. The rear features slim LED tail lamps connected by a sleek light bar. It’s muscular without being overstyled, and the proportions feel just right for urban and highway use.
Inside, the cabin uses soft-touch materials, a larger infotainment screen, and a clean layout. It’s not luxury, but it’s definitely a step up from what Arena buyers are used to.
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris is available in 10 colour options, including Arctic White, Splendid Silver, Sizzling Red, Bluish Black, Magma Grey, and the newly introduced Eternal Blue and Mystic Green. For those who like a dual-tone flair, there are three black-roof combos: Splendid Silver, Sizzling Red, and Eternal Blue.
5-Star Safety
The Maruti Suzuki Victoris has bagged a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests, making it one of the safest SUVs in its segment. It scored 31.66 out of 32 points for adult occupant protection and 43.00 out of 49 for child occupant protection. The rating reflects Maruti’s growing commitment to safety, especially in a market where crash test scores are finally starting to matter to buyers.
Rivals and positioning
Victoris enters a crowded segment but brings a unique mix of affordability and tech. It undercuts the Creta and Seltos while offering features that match or exceed them. It also gives Maruti a much-needed boost in the Arena network.
With this move, Maruti now has seven utility vehicles in its portfolio, covering everything from the Jimny to the Invicto.
