Maruti Suzuki True Value hits 60 lakh sales milestone

Key highlights

  • Maruti Suzuki True Value crosses 60 lakh pre-owned car sales since inception
  • 85% of customers are first-time buyers, average age stands at 31 years
  • Over 600 showrooms across 305 cities strengthen reach and accessibility

Maruti Suzuki True Value (MSTV) has achieved a significant milestone by crossing 60 lakh pre-owned car sales since its launch in 2001. The brand sold nearly 4.93 lakh cars in FY 2024-25 alone, reinforcing its position as India’s largest organized pre-owned car retail channel. Built on the values of warmth, simplicity, and reliability, True Value has grown into a trusted name for buyers seeking affordable yet dependable cars.

Younger buyers drive demand

A key highlight of this journey is the strong pull among first-time buyers, who account for 85% of total customers. The average age of buyers is just 31 years, signaling a generational shift towards organized pre-owned car purchases. With rising new car prices and evolving aspirations, young buyers are seeing True Value as an entry point into car ownership.

Quality assurance and benefits

Every True Value-certified car undergoes a 376-point inspection process and refurbishment using genuine Maruti Suzuki parts before being put up for sale. Buyers also get a warranty of up to one year and three free services, further enhancing peace of mind. These checks and benefits are aimed at bridging the trust gap that often plagues India’s used-car market.

Network and Digital Reach

Currently, Maruti Suzuki True Value operates 606 showrooms in 305 cities, offering easy access across the country. Alongside its physical footprint, the brand has built a strong digital presence. The True Value website and mobile app allow customers to explore inventory, compare prices, and even book test drives online. A dedicated Smart Finance platform also offers quick, paperless loan approvals, making ownership more accessible.

Our thoughts

Crossing 60 lakh sales is no small feat, but the bigger story here is how True Value managed to change perceptions around used cars in India. From anxious test drives at shady lots to a polished, transparent buying experience, the journey has been quite something. And if first-time buyers are anything to go by, it seems India’s next-gen car owners are perfectly happy to start their automotive story with a “pre-loved” ride.
