Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq Edition – What’s special?
The mid-size SUVs like the Hyundai Creta have seen a sharp rise in customers opting for the completely blacked-out variants. Hence, Maruti has also introduced the Phantom Blaq Edition of the Grand Vitara, which features an all-black exterior and interior updates.
The Phantom Blaq Edition is based on the top-spec Alpha+ strong hybrid variants only. It is going to be positioned above the standard Alpha+ variant when the pricing is announced.
On the outside, it features a matte black shade with piano black highlights, including the headlamp garnish, bumper skid plate, and trim parts around the front grille, door beading, and more. Meanwhile, the new 17-inch alloy wheels and the brake calipers have also been painted black.
The interiors now feature an all-black theme with black leather upholstery. However, the features and options are similar to the standard Alpha+ variant, which include a 360-degree camera, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, electric adjustment for the driver’s seat, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and more.
Powering the Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq Edition is the 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, strong hybrid petrol engine that generates 116 bhp of peak power. The strong hybrid engine offers the best-in-class fuel efficiency of 27.97 km/l. However, the black edition is not available for the semi-hybrid variants.
The pricing of the Phantom Blaq Edition has not been revealed yet.
Our say
The newly introduced Grand Vitara Phantom Blaq Edition offers a unique outlook with its blacked-out and de-chromed treatment. It competes with the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition and the Kia Seltos X-Line models.
