Key highlights
- New teaser confirms upright stance, sealed-off front fascia, and flared wheel arches.
- Vision S expected to be part of the Scorpio family, built on Mahindra’s Freedom_NU platform.
- Concept SUV to debut alongside Vision T, Vision X, and Vision SXT on August 15 in Mumbai.
Mahindra has dropped another teaser for its upcoming Vision S concept SUV, and this one gives us a clearer look at the side profile. Scheduled to debut on August 15 at the brand’s Freedom_NU event, the Vision S is widely speculated to be a new addition to the Scorpio lineup, joining the Scorpio Classic and Scorpio N.
The teaser reveals a muscular, upright silhouette with a sealed-off front fascia, hooded bonnet, and angular cladding around the wheel arches. The flared arches are filled with chunky off-road-biased tyres, while a sharply raked windscreen adds a touch of modern aggression.
Design details: Rugged meets refined
From what we’ve seen so far, the Vision S is shaping up to be a performance-oriented SUV with serious off-road intent. Key design cues include:
- Flat clamshell bonnet with prominent vents
- Modern six-slat grille, reinterpreted for the concept
- Charging flap tucked under the nose, hinting at electrification
- Plastic cladding and hood scoop for added visual drama
Unlike the Vision T, which leans heavily into off-road styling, the Vision S appears to be road-biased, suggesting a more versatile urban-off-road balance.
Platform and powertrain possibilities
The Vision S will likely ride on Mahindra’s new Freedom_NU platform, designed to support ICE, EV, and hybrid powertrains. While Mahindra hasn’t confirmed specs, the presence of a charging port strongly suggests an electric or hybrid variant is in the works3.
Expect Mahindra to load the cabin with tech, including:
- Large touchscreen infotainment system
- Level-2 ADAS
- Panoramic sunroof
- Connected car features
What else is coming?
The Vision S will be unveiled alongside three other concept models:
- Vision T – likely a production-ready Thar.e EV
- Vision X – details still under wraps
- Vision SXT – expected to be a Scorpio-based pickup truck
All four concepts will showcase Mahindra’s future design language and platform strategy, with production models expected to roll out from the Chakan facility in the coming years.
