Mahindra BE6 Black/Bat Edition teased ahead of August 14 reveal

Key highlights

  • Mahindra teases a dark-themed BE6 variant, possibly called the Black or Bat Edition
  • Matte black exterior with stealthy styling and ambient-lit interiors expected
  • Launch set for August 14, ahead of Mahindra’s Independence Day product showcase

Mahindra has dropped a shadowy teaser of what appears to be a new Black or Bat Edition of its upcoming BE6 electric SUV, stirring buzz across the EV community. The teaser shows a blacked-out silhouette with the tagline “Born in the shadows. Built for the spotlight,” hinting at a bold new variant that could debut on August 14, 2025.

This special edition is expected to build on the BE6’s athletic design with a matte black finish, stealthy trims, and possibly a darker cabin theme. Whether it’s officially called the Bat Edition, Black Edition, or Shadow Edition, Mahindra seems ready to add some drama to its BE lineup.

What to expect from the BE6 Black/Bat Edition

While Mahindra hasn’t confirmed specs, here’s what the teaser and leaks suggest:

  • Matte black exterior with minimal chrome and blacked-out skid plates
  • All-black cabin with ambient lighting in red or blue
  • Illuminated Mahindra logos at the front and rear
  • Bi-LED projector headlamps and sequential turn indicators

The BE6 already comes in dark shades like Stealth Black and Deep Forest, but this new edition could push the envelope with a more aggressive, Gotham-inspired look.

Powertrain and Variants

The BE6 is offered in five variants:

  • Pack One, Pack One Above, Pack Two, Pack Three Select, and Pack Three
  • Battery options include 59 kWh and 79 kWh, depending on the variant
  • Expected range: 450–550 km, depending on pack and driving conditions
  • Rivals include the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta EV, BYD Atto 3, and MG ZS EV

It’s unclear if the Black/Bat Edition will be available across all packs or limited to higher trims like Pack Three.

Our thoughts

Personally, I think the BE6 Black/Bat Edition is a smart move. EVs often lean toward clean and futuristic, but this one’s going full stealth mode. If Mahindra throws in a performance tweak or an AWD option, we might just start calling it the Batmobile for the masses.
