Mahindra has officially launched the BE6 Batman Edition in India, priced at INR 27.79 lakh (ex-showroom). This limited-run electric SUV is a result of Mahindra’s collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, and it’s every bit as dramatic as the superhero it’s inspired by. Only 300 units will be produced, making it one of the most exclusive EVs ever sold in India.

Bookings open on August 23, and deliveries begin on September 20, which fittingly coincides with International Batman Day.

Exterior: Gotham on wheels

The BE6 Batman Edition wears a custom Satin Black paint, paired with Alchemy Gold-painted brake callipers and suspension components. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels, and features Batman decals and emblems across:

• Hub caps
• Front quarter panels
• Rear bumper
• Windows and rear windshield
• Infinity Roof with Bat symbol illumination
• Night Trail carpet lamps projecting the Bat emblem

The rear badging reads “BE6 × The Dark Knight,” and the rear door cladding carries a “Batman Edition” signature sticker. It’s stealthy, theatrical, and unmistakably Gotham.

Interior: Batcave vibes

Step inside, and the cabin continues the theme with:

• Charcoal leather instrument panel with brushed gold halo
• Suede and leather seats with gold sepia stitching and embossed Bat emblems
• Gold-accented steering wheel, In-Touch Controller, and electronic parking brake
• Brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition plaque with unit number
• Pinstripe graphics and Bat emblem across the passenger dashboard
• Race car-inspired open straps with Batman branding
• Batman-themed welcome animation on the infotainment screen
• Custom exterior engine sounds inspired by the Dark Knight’s aura

Every detail is designed to feel personal, cinematic, and immersive.

Powertrain and features

The Batman Edition is based on the BE6 Pack Three variant, powered by a 79 kWh battery and a 286 PS motor delivering 380 Nm torque. It offers an ARAI-certified range of 683 km, with real-world figures expected around 500+ km.

Standard features include:

• Dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays
• 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system
• Ventilated front seats with memory function
• Dual-zone climate control
• ADAS Level 2 with 20+ autonomous safety features
• 360° camera and auto park assist

Buyers can opt for a 7.2 kW charger at INR 50,000 or an 11.2 kW charger at INR 75,000.

Our thoughts

Personally, I think the BE6 Batman Edition is a masterstroke. It’s bold, it’s geeky, and it’s unapologetically cool. The Bat emblem on the Boost button alone is worth the price of admission. If Mahindra throws in a Bat-signal key fob, I might just start calling it the most fun you can have in an EV without breaking the law.
