Kinetic DX electric scooter, an iconic comeback soon?
Pune-based Kinetic Green has rolled out the teaser and invitations for its upcoming two-wheeler launch on July 28. The new electric scooter is suspected to be based on a new platform, and likely draws its design inspiration from the iconic Honda DX scooter.
While the Kinetic Honda DX was a revolutionary product that changed the way of commuting in India, the new EV version will offer green mobility and an identical package of comfort and affordability.
Not long ago, an unnamed test mule of the upcoming e-scooter was seen testing. The spy shots revealed the design details, which included a similar front apron design, a similar rectangular headlamp and cowl design as the old DX scooter.
While the details regarding its battery, specifications, and features are unknown right now, we are expecting Kinetic Green to position it against the TVS iQube and Bajaj Chetak electric scooters. This would mean that it will get a range of around 100 km or more, and a price tag of Rs 1 lakh or so.
Our verdict
Kinetic Green introduced its first e-scooter, the e Luna, back in 2023. However, the brand did not attain the rural buyers’ attention, on which it was leaning. The upcoming DX-inspired electric scooter will be the brand’s second attempt to position itself strongly among the highly competitive e-scooter market in India.
