Kia India has officially launched the Carens Clavis EV, marking its entry into the mass-market electric vehicle segment. Priced from INR 17.99 lakh to INR 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Clavis EV is Kia’s first locally manufactured electric vehicle and is positioned as a three-row electric RV built for Indian families.
Available in four variants—HTK Plus, HTX, ER HTX, and ER HTX Plus—the Clavis EV offers two battery pack options:
- 42 kWh with 404 km ARAI-certified range
- 51.4 kWh with 490 km ARAI-certified range
Both versions feature a front-mounted electric motor delivering 255 Nm of torque, with power outputs of 99 kW (132 bhp) and 126 kW (169 bhp) respectively. The top-spec variant does 0–100 km/h in 8.4 seconds, making it one of the quickest MPVs in its segment.
Design and Cabin
The Clavis EV retains the silhouette of its ICE sibling but adds EV-specific touches like:
- Sealed-off grille with front charging port
- Star Map LED DRLs, ice cube LED headlamps, and connected tail lamps
- 17-inch aero alloy wheels and 200 mm ground clearance
Inside, it’s all about tech and comfort:
- 26.62-inch dual panoramic display
- Ventilated front seats, powered driver seat, and dual-pane sunroof
- Floating centre console, ambient lighting, and BOSE 8-speaker audio system
