Kia India opens bookings for Carens Clavis EV from July 22

Kia India has officially opened bookings for the Carens Clavis EV, its first locally manufactured electric vehicle, starting July 22, 2025. Priced from INR 17.99 lakh to INR 24.49 lakh (ex-showroom), the Clavis EV is positioned as a three-row electric RV, blending practicality, tech, and affordability for Indian families.

Customers can book the vehicle online via Kia India’s website or at authorized dealerships by paying a INR 25,000 token amount.

Powertrain and Range Options

The Carens Clavis EV is available in four variants—HTK Plus, HTX, ER HTX, and ER HTX Plus—with two battery pack choices:

  • 42 kWh (Standard Range): 404 km MIDC range
  • 51.4 kWh (Extended Range): 490 km MIDC range

Both versions feature a front-mounted electric motor producing 255 Nm of torque, with power outputs of 99 kW (132 bhp) and 126 kW (169 bhp) respectively. The top-spec variant does 0–100 km/h in 8.4 seconds.

Charging and Regeneration Tech

Kia has equipped the Clavis EV with:

  • 100 kW DC fast charging: 10–80% in 39 minutes
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability
  • i-Pedal mode for one-pedal driving
  • Four levels of regenerative braking via paddle shifters
  • Liquid-cooled IP67-certified battery tested for extreme conditions

Home charging options include 7.2 kW and 11 kW AC chargers, supported by Kia’s K-Charge platform with access to 11,000+ charging points nationwide.

Design and Cabin Features

The Clavis EV retains the silhouette of its ICE sibling but adds EV-specific touches like:

  • Sealed grille with front charging port
  • Star Map LED DRLs, ice cube LED headlamps, and connected tail lamps
  • 17-inch aero alloy wheels and 200 mm ground clearance

Inside, it’s all about tech and comfort:

  • 26.62-inch dual panoramic display
  • Ventilated front seats, powered driver seat, and dual-pane sunroof
  • Smart infotainment-temperature swap switch, ambient lighting, and BOSE 8-speaker audio system
  • One-touch electric tumble, Boss Mode, and 25-litre frunk

Safety and Connectivity

The Clavis EV comes loaded with Level 2 ADAS, offering 20 autonomous features like:

  • Smart Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Assist, and Front Collision Avoidance
  • Blind Spot Monitoring, 360-degree camera, and Safe Exit Warning

Standard safety kit includes:

  • Six airbags, ESC, Hill Start Assist, Downhill Brake Control, and ISOFIX
  • All-wheel disc brakes, rear occupant alert, and rollover sensors

It also packs 90+ connected car features, including remote climate control, geo-fencing, and smartphone integration.

Color Options and Availability

The Carens Clavis EV is available in six colors:

  • Glacier White Pearl
  • Gravity Gray
  • Aurora Black Pearl
  • Pewter Olive
  • Imperial Blue
  • Ivory Silver Matte

Deliveries are expected to begin in August 2025, with Kia’s 250+ EV-ready workshops and 100+ DC fast-charging dealerships supporting ownership.
