Kia Carens Clavis and Clavis EV cross 21,000 bookings in under four months

Key highlights

  • Over 21,000 bookings recorded for Carens Clavis and Clavis EV since launch
  • ICE variant leads with 20,000+ bookings; EV clocks 1,000+ units
  • Clavis EV offers up to 490 km range, fast charging, and Level 2 ADAS

Kia India has hit a major milestone with its latest duo, the Carens Clavis and Carens Clavis EV. Both cars have crossed a combined 21,000 bookings in less than four months. The ICE variant leads the charge with over 20,000 units, while the EV has already crossed 1,000 bookings, marking a strong start for Kia’s first Made-in-India electric MPV.

This response underscores Kia’s growing grip on the mass-premium segment, where comfort, tech, and safety are no longer optional. And the Clavis twins deliver on all fronts.

What makes the Carens Clavis click?

The ICE-powered Carens Clavis blends SUV strength with MPV practicality. It’s designed for families who want space, flexibility, and a bit of flair. Key features include:

  • Second-row sliding, reclining, and one-touch tumble seats
  • Boss Mode for easy third-row access
  • Dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays for infotainment and driver info
  • Bose 8-speaker system, 64-colour ambient lighting, and dual dashcam
  • Climate control/infotainment swap switch for intuitive use

It’s a well-rounded package that doesn’t try too hard but still feels premium.

Clavis EV: Smart, spacious, and electric

The Carens Clavis EV is Kia’s first mass-market electric vehicle built in India. It’s available with two battery options:

  • 42 kWh with 404 km MIDC range
  • 51.4 kWh with 490 km MIDC range

Performance is handled by a 171 PS motor delivering 255 Nm torque, and fast charging from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes via a 100 kW DC charger. It’s a seven-seater that doesn’t compromise on space or tech, offering:

  • Dual panoramic 67.62 cm display
  • 90 connected car features
  • Vehicle-to-load (V2L) tech
  • Level 2 ADAS with over 20 autonomous safety features

Safety

Both variants come with a comprehensive safety package:

  • Six airbags
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
  • Rear Occupant Alert
  • 360° surround view monitor
  • ADAS Level 2 with lane keep assist, collision avoidance, and more

The ICE variant of the Clavis nails the family car formula, and the EV brings real-world usability without the usual EV compromises.
