Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has officially launched the CB125 Hornet, and it’s not here to play nice. Priced at INR 1.12 lakh (introductory), this 125cc streetfighter is Honda’s loudest statement yet in the entry-level performance segment.
The CB125 Hornet isn’t just a commuter, it’s a commuter with swagger. With aggressive tank shrouds, split seats, and a low-slung LED headlamp, it borrows design cues from its bigger siblings but keeps the price tag friendly. Available in four bold colour combos, including Pearl Siren Blue with Sports Red, it’s clearly aimed at riders who want to stand out without shouting.
Tech that talks back
Honda didn’t skimp on features. The CB125 Hornet packs a 4.2-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity via the RoadSync app. Riders can access turn-by-turn navigation, call alerts, and even music playback—all from the dash. A USB Type-C charging port and full LED lighting round out the tech package.
Suspension duties are handled by golden USD forks up front—a first in this segment—and a 5-step adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking is sharp, thanks to a 240mm petal disc with single-channel ABS.
Performance
Under the tank sits a 123.94cc, fuel-injected engine that churns out 8.2 kW (11.1 hp) at 7500 RPM and 11.2 Nm at 6000 RPM. Paired with a 5-speed gearbox, the Hornet hits 60 km/h in just 5.4 seconds, making it the fastest in its class. That’s pretty quick for a commuter with a 125cc engine.
Weighing in at 124 kg, it’s heavier than the SP125 and Shine 125, but the added tech and styling more than justify the bulk.
Our thoughts
This bike feels like Honda finally decided to let its hair down. The CB125 Hornet is what happens when a sensible commuter gets a gym membership and a wardrobe upgrade. It’s stylish, quick, and loaded with features that actually matter. If you’re a city rider who wants performance without the premium price tag, this Hornet might just sting the competition.
