The BSA Gold Star, relaunched in India last year, has completed its first anniversary. Known for its timeless British design and refined single-cylinder character, the motorcycle is being celebrated with a limited-edition Goldie-kit and an exchange bonus, aimed at drawing more enthusiasts to the brand.
What’s included in the Goldie-kit?
The anniversary package includes a tall windshield, pillion backrest, polished exhaust guard, and a rear rail. These accessories, valued at INR 5,896, come bundled with every new purchase during the campaign period. Along with an exchange bonus of up to INR 10,000, buyers can enjoy total benefits worth INR 15,896.
Festive season sweetener
Adding to the celebration, Classic Legends has revised Gold Star’s pricing after GST 2.0 reforms. Buyers who purchase before September 21 can save up to INR 23,702 on the ex-showroom price in Delhi. This offer makes the classic-inspired motorcycle more accessible to new customers.
Performance and Engineering
The Gold Star is powered by a 652cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder DOHC engine producing 45 hp and 55 Nm of torque. A 5-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, telescopic forks, and a double-cradle chassis ensure modern usability while retaining vintage charm. Wide tyres, premium disc brakes, and balanced suspension enhance stability and comfort for long rides.
Design and Variants
Staying true to BSA’s legacy, the motorcycle combines classic cafe racer styling with modern touches. Five colours are on offer: Shadow Black, Insignia Red, Midnight Black, Dawn Silver, and Highland Green. Each variant features chrome accents and detailing that underline its heritage appeal.
Competitors in India
In the retro-classic motorcycle segment, the BSA Gold Star competes against Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, Kawasaki W800, and Honda CB350. While the RE leads in affordability and brand loyalty, the Gold Star positions itself as a more premium, heritage-driven alternative.
