Key highlights
- Project Redux combines the agility of a scooter with the dynamics of a sportbike
- Features adaptive ride posture, MorphUI interface, and “Take Off” acceleration mode
- Built on a lightweight aluminium frame with experimental materials like AmplyTex
Ather Energy has pulled the wraps off its most radical concept yet—Project Redux, a moto-scooter that reimagines what urban mobility can look and feel like. Unveiled at the brand’s Community Day 2025, Redux isn’t just a design exercise, it’s a full-blown rethink of form, function, and rider experience.
While the Rizta and Apex cater to real-world riders, Redux is aimed at dreamers, tinkerers, and tech-heads who want their scooter to behave like a motorcycle and look like it belongs in a sci-fi film.
Design and Materials
Redux is built on a cast aluminium frame, paired with a 3D-printed lattice mesh seat and body panels made from AmplyTex, a composite material that’s lightweight and durable. The silhouette is aggressive, with aerodynamic scoops, winglets, and a low-slung stance.
It gets clip-on handlebars, slick tyres, and a brass chain, all of which scream performance. But it’s still a scooter at heart, just one that’s been through a serious gym routine.
Tech and Ergonomics
The real magic lies in how Redux adapts to the rider. It features:
- Adaptive ride dynamics that adjust suspension and throttle response based on posture
- Posture-based transformation, allowing the rider to shift from upright scooter mode to crouched sportbike mode
- MorphUI, a next-gen human-machine interface that changes layout and feedback based on riding style
- Haptic throttle with pressure sensors for nuanced control
- “Take Off” mode, Ather’s version of launch control, which preps the scooter for rapid acceleration
There’s no key, no fob, just a true keyless system that responds to proximity and intent.
Will It Launch?
Let’s be clear, the Redux is a concept. Ather hasn’t committed to production, and given the tech and materials involved, it’s unlikely to hit showrooms anytime soon. But it’s a bold signal of where the brand wants to go. Think of it as a rolling lab, collecting feedback and sparking ideas for future models.
