Ather ‘Battery as a Service’ explained in detail
The newly introduced BaaS or Battery as a Service scheme lets customers pay only for the scooter, while they can opt for a monthly battery rental package.
These packages have been designed for customers opting for 48 months or a minimum of 1,000 km monthly running. The basic starting price for the monthly packages is Rs 1/km. Moreover, customers opting for the BaaS scheme can use 3,300 Ather rapid chargers for free, nationwide.
Meanwhile, with the new BaaS program live now, the prices of Ather scooters have dropped considerably. The Rizta e-scooter is now available from as low as Rs 75,999, while the 450 Series can be had for as low as Rs 84,341 (ex-showroom).
Additionally, to support new customers, the company has launched its Extended Comprehensive Warranty coverage for 11 critical parts, which include the electric motor, motor controller, dashboard, charger, etc.
Not just that, but the company has also revamped its Assured Buyback scheme offer that now offers a maximum value of up to 60% for the return of the scooter in three years, and 50% for four years. However, the value remains dependent on the condition and odometer reading of the scooter.
Our say
Ather’s new BaaS scheme will prove beneficial to users with higher annual or monthly usage, especially customers involved with last-mile delivery services or commercial baxi operators. The Buyback scheme also adds to the overall value for such customers.
