Key highlights
- Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) to pass on full GST benefits to customers
- Price cuts across popular models, effective from September 22, 2025
- Fortuner sees the highest reduction of up to INR 3.49 lakh
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has announced a price cut for their entire India line-up. TKM is passing the complete GST cut-down benefit to the consumers. This move comes just ahead of the festive season, a period when car sales usually peak. The company expects the revised pricing to further boost customer confidence and strengthen demand in the Indian auto sector.
Price reductions across models
The cuts vary by model, with some of the most popular SUVs and MPVs receiving substantial reductions. The Fortuner leads the pack with a reduction of up to INR 3.49 lakh, while its sibling, the Legender, is now cheaper by up to INR 3.34 lakh. The Hilux follows with a drop of INR 2.52 lakh. Premium offerings like the Vellfire and Camry also benefit, with reductions of up to INR 2.78 lakh and INR 1.01 lakh respectively. Closer to the mainstream segment, the Hycross gets a cut of INR 1.15 lakh, the Taisor by INR 1.11 lakh, and the Hyryder by INR 65,400. Even entry-level offerings like the Glanza and Rumion see price drops of INR 85,300 and INR 48,700 respectively.
Why It Matters
The timing of this announcement is key. With the festive season approaching, manufacturers traditionally bank on higher sales. By slashing prices, TKM is ensuring its lineup remains competitive not just against rivals like Hyundai, Kia, and Maruti Suzuki, but also against newer entrants looking to capture market share. The Fortuner, in particular, has faced rising competition from models like the MG Gloster and Jeep Meridian. This price cut will help it maintain its appeal as a premium SUV.
What’s next for Toyota in India
TKM has already expanded its footprint with models like the Hycross and Hyryder, tapping into the growing demand for hybrids. The price revision aligns with Toyota’s broader strategy of making advanced mobility solutions more accessible while retaining its premium positioning. The company has also reassured customers that they should confirm final prices at dealerships and book early to avoid festive-season delays.
