What is the Mahindra Vision T concept?
The Vision T concept has been the talk of the town among car enthusiasts across India ever since it was first teased. The high speculations were that it is the near-production-ready version of the Thar.e or Thar Electric, which was showcased in 2023 for the first time.
It seems that these speculations have turned out to be true as the Vision T is a Thar model, which looks futuristic and ready to conquer with its new NU_IQ platform. This new platform has been developed to support all sorts of powertrain options, including EV, Hybrid, and ICE.
While we already have an ICE Thar on sale, which also includes the Thar Roxx, there is no EV based on the moniker. The Vision T looks like a perfect vehicle to lift the Thar SUV brand through electrification. Moreover, the NU_IQ platform can support SUVs up to a length of 4.3 metres, which the Vision T looks like.
While we do not know the interior details, the outside design of the Vision T is truly stunning. It takes the aura of Thar multiple steps forward with its lifted body, big wheel arches, star-shaped dual-tone alloys, two-part grille with six vertical slats, LED lights, off-road tyres, and Defender-like ORVMs.
Considering that Thar has now evolved into a lifestyle SUV and more buyers are opting for it, especially with the availability of the Roxx (5-door), we suspect that there is a huge scope for EV buyers if the brand launches the electric Thar. The Vision T could be that breakthrough in the 4X4 segment, where an EV will offer capabilities of a true off-roader along with modern features.
Our say
Along with the Vision T, Mahindra has also unveiled its three other concept SUV models, which include a new mini Scorpio called Vision S. All these SUVs will make it to production in the future.
