What do we know about the Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup?
It is no hidden fact that Mahindra has been road testing its upcoming pickup truck mules in and around Pune city. The latest spotting comes of the single-cab version of the pickup truck, which is suspected to be based on the Scorpio N truck.
So, what do we know so far? First, the test mule seems quite big. Its side profile shows that the flatbed is quite long and looks utilitarian-friendly. As it is a single-cab version, we suspect that it will be targeted at the commercial segment, hence the big loading bay seems reasonable.
Additionally, the ORVMs look identical to the Scorpio N, which again gives away the fact that it is based on the popular SUV. Meanwhile, the front profile has a big grille with horizontal slats and dummy headlights, which are probably there to cover the design details.
The interior details are yet to be determined, but a few online reports have earlier hinted at a similar dashboard layout to the Thar Roxx. We also suspect that it will get the double-cab version with more luxurious features like wireless connectivity, auto AC, digital console, and more.
Powering this upcoming pickup truck will be the 2.2-litre m-Hawk turbo-diesel and the 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine options, similar to the Scorpio N, but with less power and torque output.
As far as the debut timeline is concerned, Mahindra is going to unveil it most probably on August 15 at its Freedom_NU event.
Our say
Mahindra will soon be debuting a variety of its upcoming concept and production models on August 15. The new pickup truck will be one of the most sought-after products, which is likely to become the new rival to the Toyota Hilux.
