Kinetic Engineering has officially launched the DX Electric Scooter in India, priced at INR 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). This marks the return of the legendary DX, now reborn as a smart electric scooter under the Kinetic Watts and Volts banner. And yes, it still has that unmistakable silhouette that made it a household name in the ’90s.
The DX EV is available in two variants, the DX and DX+. While the DX sticks to the essentials, the DX+ adds a layer of tech wizardry with advanced telematics and voice-enabled features.
Design
Styled in collaboration with Italian designers, the DX EV retains its classic charm with a strong metal body, spacious floorboard, and a stubby visor that proudly wears the Kinetic badge. The DX variant comes in Silver and Black, while the DX+ adds Red, Blue, White, and Silver to the palette.
Under-seat storage is a generous 37 litres, enough to fit a full helmet, a half helmet, and still have room for your lunchbox. Or your cat. We don’t judge.
Performance and Battery Tech
The DX EV uses a 2.6 kWh LFP battery made by Range-X, offering an IDC-certified range of 116 km. Thanks to K-Coast regenerative tech and a 60V system, it’s not just efficient—it’s built to last, with 2500 to 3500+ charge cycles.
The motor delivers a top speed of 90 km/h and supports three riding modes—Range, Power, and Turbo. You also get reverse assist and hill hold, which are genuinely useful and not just brochure fillers.

Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and adjustable rear shocks, while braking is managed by a 220 mm front disc and 130 mm rear drum with combi-braking.
Availability and Booking
Bookings are open at INR 1000 on kineticev.in, limited to 35,000 units. Deliveries begin in September 2025.
