MG Comet July price hike details
As per the latest price revision, the Comet will now be costlier by up to Rs 15,000, depending on the variant. MG has hiked the prices of all three variants of Comet, which include Executive, Excite, and Exclusive.
As per the details, the base variant Executive is now costlier by Rs 14,300. Meanwhile, the mid-variant Excite is now costlier by Rs 15,000. Similarly, the top-spec version, i.e. Exclusive, is now costlier by Rs 15,000. MG has also hiked the prices of the Blackstorm Edition, which is an all-black version of the Comet, by Rs 13,700.
Apart from the new price increase, no other changes have been made to the small city hatchback. MG Comet remains the only EV in its particular segment, but it is soon likely to receive competition in the form of Renault Kwid EV.
Powering the Comet EV is a 17.3 kWh battery pack, which develops 41 bhp of power and 110 Nm of torque. The MIDC-claimed real-world range of the Comet is 230 km on a full charge.
Our say
While MG India has increased the prices of its products, the brand is facing low demand in the international market. In fact, SAIC has pulled its investments from MG, which has led JSW’s investment in the brand to keep it alive in India.
