Rimac Nevera R new world record details
Based on the Nevera e-sports car, the new Nevera R offers 2,107 bhp, which is a whopping 194 bhp more than the standard model. With the increased power, it has created a new record of completing the 0-400-2 km/h run in just 25.79 seconds.
To achieve this, it features a new aerodynamic body kit, which has a bigger wing and a large diffuser that cumulatively increases the downforce by 15% and aerodynamic efficiency by 10%. It also features a weight reduction of 40 kg, which has been achieved by using carbon fibre parts and lightweight construction.
In terms of performance, the Nevera R can sprint 0-100 km/h in just 1.72 seconds and has a top speed of 431 km/h. Meanwhile, it takes only 7.89 seconds to reach to 0-300 km/h mark. Although it uses the same 108 kWh battery pack as the standard Nevera, its performance is outstanding.
With that said, the Nevera R has beaten the Koenigsegg Jeska Absolut as the world’s fastest production vehicle. Moreover, it has broken 24 world records combined.
In terms of production, the Nevera R is limited to only 40 units, and it has been priced at approximately Rs 22 crore. It is aimed at hypercar collectors and enthusiasts.
Our verdict
The new world record set by Rimac Nevera R has broken the stereotype for EVs and their performance. It is not only silent, but blistering quick and hyper-fast. Ironically, only a handful of 40 units of this masterpiece will ever be made.
