KTM has officially unveiled the 2026 690 Enduro R and 690 SMC R, giving its LC4-powered legends a serious upgrade in performance, tech, and styling. These are full-blown evolutions designed for riders who want maximum thrills on dirt or tarmac.
Both bikes retain their core identities: the Enduro R is built for off-road dominance, while the SMC R is a supermoto weapon for the streets. But now, they pack smarter electronics, sharper ergonomics, and a more refined ride.
Engine and Performance
At the heart of both bikes is the updated LC4 single-cylinder engine, now producing 79 hp and 73 Nm. KTM has reworked nearly half the internals, including:
- New crankcase, clutch, and stator covers
- Redesigned oil delivery system and fuel pump
- Revised valve timing and simplified intake layout
The result? More power, better throttle response, and longer service intervals—oil changes every 15,000 km, valve checks at 60,000 km.
Electronics and Rider Aids
The old LCD dash is gone. In its place is a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT display with:
- KTMconnect smartphone pairing
- USB-C charging
- Music and call controls
- Turn-by-turn navigation
Rider aids include:
- Lean-sensitive Cornering ABS and Cornering MTC
- ABS-off button for quick disengagement
- Enduro R: Rally mode with adjustable traction and slip regulation
- SMC R: Track mode with launch control, five-stage anti-wheelie, and Supermoto ABS settings
Chassis and Suspension
Both bikes continue to use KTM’s steel trellis frame, now stiffer for better feedback. Suspension tuning has been revised for improved compliance:
- Enduro R: WP XPLOR USD forks (265 mm travel), WP XPLOR rear monoshock (250 mm)
- SMC R: 48 mm USD forks (224 mm), rear monoshock with 240 mm travel
Design and Ergonomics
KTM has sharpened the styling with:
- New LED headlight, taillight, and indicators
- In-mold graphics for durability
- Revised bodywork for better rider movement
- Relocated centre-stand mount on the Enduro R
Both bikes will be available globally from September 2025, with India launch details yet to be confirmed.
