While Jeep continues to sell its nearly-outdated Meridian and Compass SUVs in India, it has updated the Meridian, aka Commander globally, with new features and design updates.

2026 Jeep Meridian: Design
The new MY26 Meridian has made its debut in the South American car market. Although there are no major updates, the MY26 model gets a mild refreshment to its design.
At the front, it now gets a set of new reflector-based LED headlights, a new bumper design with foglights, and a set of new 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Meanwhile, the rear design is nearly identical to the outgoing model.
In terms of size and dimensions, it remains unaltered.
2026 Jeep Meridian: Interior and features
On the inside, the updated Meridian/Commander features new leather upholstery with a quilted design on the seats. Moreover, the gear shifter knob is now rotary to increase ease of use.
While the rest of the cabin is unchanged, the MY26 model is equipped with the Level 2 ADAS suite for improved passenger safety.
2026 Jeep Meridian: Engine specifications
Internationally, the Meridian is offered with multiple engine options. These include a 2.2-litre diesel (200bhp/450Nm), a flex fuel engine (176bhp/270Nm), and a 2.0-litre Hurricane 4 turbo petrol engine (272bhp/400Nm).
In India, the current Meridian SUV is powered by the Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
2026 Jeep Meridian: India launch date and price
While the new Meridian is now on sale internationally, there are slim chances of Jeep launching it in India. The Meridian was updated in India not long ago, which eliminates the idea of bringing a new one anytime soon.
The current Jeep Meridian is priced at Rs 31.27 lakh (base variant).

The Jeep Meridian makes for a comfortable option for Toyota Fortuner buyers who want more comfort, luxury, and an upmarket feel. However, high maintenance costs and difficulty in parts sourcing are major drawbacks for the low sales of Meridian.
