2025 TVS Orbiter electric scooter – What to expect?
The upcoming Orbiter scooter will become the most affordable EV from TVS. Scheduled to be launched on August 28, the new Orbiter will be positioned below the iQube electric scooter, which is priced at Rs 1 lakh for the base variant.
Therefore, the expected price of the Orbiter is below the Rs 1 lakh mark, where the base variant could be positioned as low as Rs 90,000. Moreover, it will rival the new Hero Vida VX2, Ola S1 X, and the Bajaj Chetak.
As far as the details are concerned, the Orbiter will offer a sleek design with big wheels, swingarm-mounted electric motor, alloy wheels, single disc brake, TFT console, a flyscreen, LED lights, and more.
In terms of battery specifications, the Orbiter is likely to be equipped with the option of a 2.2 kWh and a 3.1 kWh battery pack sourced from the iQube. If so, then its claimed range could be around 100-130 km.
TVS has also patented a similar-looking e-scooter in Indonesia. However, the leaked sketches of the Indonesian unnamed scooter are rather premium and hint at a different model, which might be based on the Oribiter’s platform.
Meanwhile, TVS is also likely to introduce the BaaS or Battery as a Service model to lower the ownership cost of its upcoming e-scooter. More details are likely to be revealed on August 28.
Our say
Considering the fact that TVS has established its name firmly in the EV sector with the iQube, the new Orbiter scooter will help to expand the product portfolio and reach of the future EVs in the tier-2 and tier-3 markets.
