Ather Energy has finally added cruise control to its flagship 450 Apex, and it’s not your average cruise control system. Dubbed Infinite Cruise, the feature was unveiled at Ather’s Community Day 2025 and is now available to both new buyers and existing owners (MY25 model) via an over-the-air update.
Priced at INR 1,89,999 (ex-showroom), the 450 Apex continues to be Ather’s tech showcase, and this update makes it even more practical for daily commutes and weekend rides.
Infinite Cruise: Three Modes, One Button
Ather’s cruise control isn’t just about holding speed, it’s about adapting to real-world riding. The system is activated using the reverse button and offers three distinct modes:
- City Cruise: Maintains a steady pace on flat roads, ideal for stop-go traffic
- Hill Cruise: Holds speed on inclines and manages regenerative braking on descents
- Crawl Control: Exclusive to the Apex, lets you glide through traffic or rough patches at just 10 km/h
The system pauses automatically when the scooter stops and resumes without manual input once you’re moving again. It also works in sync with Ather’s Magic Twist and Magic Brake features, making it smarter than conventional cruise setups.
Powertrain and Performance
Mechanically, the 450 Apex remains unchanged. It uses a 3.7 kWh battery paired with a 7 kW motor, delivering:
- Top speed: 100 km/h
- Range: Up to 157 km on a full charge
- Torque: 26 Nm
The scooter supports fast charging and comes with Ather’s latest AtherStack 7 software, which also unlocks voice commands, pothole alerts, and smoother route suggestions.
Other Smart Features
Alongside Infinite Cruise, the 450 Apex now offers:
- Crash and fall detection
- Geo-fencing and anti-theft alerts
- Remote immobilization
- Smart charging control
- Live cricket scores on the dashboard (while parked)
The update also improves traction control during rain and adds proactive alerts based on time and weather conditions.
